Ready, Set, Bake! RVT Group raises £927 for Cancer Research UK

The Great RVT Group Bake Off returned for 2025 and competition was high to win the prize!

Every year, RVT Group colleagues from across our UK locations get busy in the kitchen and bake up something delicious to raise funds for charity, and 2025 was no different.

This year the rolling pins were picked up for Cancer Research UK, the world’s largest charity dedicated to saving lives through research. Donating to this worthy cause helps prevent, detect and treat over 200 types of cancer. Did you know more than 8 in 10 people who receive cancer drugs in the UK receive a drug developed by, or with Cancer Research UK, pretty incredible, right?

Our Dartford, Chester and Sheffield offices were spoilt for choice with yummy treats like cheesecakes, brownies, shortbread, sausage rolls and more baked by RVT colleagues.

Following a day of taste testing everything sweet and savoury once… or twice, colleagues were asked to vote for their favourite, with the winner from each location receiving a £50 Amazon voucher for their incredible efforts.

Below are some of the delicious bakes from this year’s competition.

Competition was HIGH, it seems RVT Group has some real gifted bakers! Following a count of results, the winners were decided. In no particular order we have:

Rio created a delicious Kinder Cheesecake for our Dartford office that went down an absolute treat.

In joint first place we had Jim who made an Apple and Date Cake, whilst David opted to bake up some Shortbread Biscuits with Chocolate Chips for our Dartford depot.

James’ eye was on the prize, whisking up some amazing White Chocolate Blondies, as well as a Madagascan Vanilla Sponge Cake with vanilla frosting for our Sheffield depot.

With full bellies and winners announced, our colleagues then all generously donated to our fundraiser, where we managed to raise an incredible £927 for a worthy charity!

Every year colleagues step up to this challenge, and we can’t wait to see what 2026 brings. Our mouths are watering just thinking about it!
